UK Status Resident. Widespread and common throughout Britain. Montgomeryshire Status First found in the east of the county in 2014 at Dolforwyn Woods Nature Reserve. Wingspan : M & F 10-12mm. Confusion species Care should be taken as other species of Coleophora can look very similar. |

(Univoltine)  Habitat Fens, marshes, damp meadows and woodland rides. Foodplant Rush sp. Lifestage data Case-bearing/seed miner. Eggs laid on floret. Larva feed on seeds and builds case with the husk around it. Pupates in case. |
